Heracles Almelo is the first Eredivisie club to start with its own training for eSports. Six talented players will present themselves for the first time on Friday 21 July at the Polman Stadium in Almelo. The eJeugd will be trained by Bryan Hessing, fulltime eSpeler of Heracles Almelo. The young people will represent Heracles Almelo at FIFA tournaments. The best youth player will continue as a second eSpeler, behind Hessing. The eJeugd, which will be presented on Friday from 3.30 pm, currently consists of Gunnar Nieuwenhuis (16), Rik Weits (18), Melih Bingöl (19), Finn Mulder (13), Tim Slaghekke (16) and Sjors ten Tije (18 ). Manager eSports of Heracles Almelo, Arnoud Schonis, is responsible for scouting new eSports talent. For the time being, it is being searched in their own region. 'Writing history' "I am convinced that we are writing history with the Heracles eJeugd", says eSpeler Rik Weits. "Developments indicate that eSports is only getting bigger. I feel honored that I belong to the first batch of Heracles Almelo. I will make every effort to represent the club as well as possible in tournaments. " Scouting talent Rob Toussaint, commercial director of Heracles Almelo, explains the choice to start with the eJeugd:" With the eJeugd we are expanding Team Heracles eSports and we ensure that we have trained and qualitative eSpelers. The players will also represent Heracles Almelo at the highest level. Our younger target group now also has the opportunity to play eSports for Heracles and can regularly participate in FIFA tournaments in our eBox. These are times when they may be scouted. "Meanwhile, all Eredivisie clubs in the Netherlands are active to a greater or lesser extent with eSports and in particular the popular game FIFA17, the virtual counterpart to professional football. Key skills From now on, young talents are trained every week by Bryan Hessing in the eBox, a special skybox where 36 gamers can play FIFA at the same time. The group is being trained to represent Heracles Almelo as Team Heracles eSports at FIFA tournaments. Hessing: "As a player of Heracles Almelo I represent the club in the Dutch E-Division and at national and international tournaments. Now I can also train young talents. Apart from game training, I share with them my tournament experience, like last spring at the Regional Final in Madrid and the FIWC in Munich. The eJeugd will participate in FIFA tournaments as a team. At the beginning of June Heracles Almelo organized the very first FIFA tournament on the pitch in a stadium of an Eredivisie club. More than 500 young gamers and professional players from other clubs participated. Main sponsor eSports at Heracles is cleaning company Asito.
