Vianen, January 7, 2016 - T-Systems and Covata have won their first joint customer with the German health insurer Barmer GEK. Barmer GEK opts for the file sharing solution of the Australian data security specialist for protecting their sensitive data. The user-friendly cloud service was developed on the basis of a company-specific security architecture and is hosted by T-Systems from their accredited, highly secure data centers in Germany.

Technical network
In 2014 T-Systems started with the construction of a technical network to create a reliable link between the health insurer and its partners through a secure infrastructure. Barmer GEK is now extending this contract with Covata's Safe Share solution so that it can also securely exchange files and data with internal and external stakeholders, such as their mobile sales force, customers and suppliers. Barmer GEK opted for the joint cloud solution because of the end-to-end encryption, the broad flexibility and the ability to securely exchange large amounts of confidential data.

Partnership data security
"Digitization of our business processes is an important element in optimizing our customer service and at the same time strengthening our competitive position", says Frank Löhler, Team Leader Mobility & Mobile Strategy at Barmer GEK. "We are proud of our exceptional service. And this continues behind the scenes in how we protect valuable personal information that we receive from our community. The collaboration with Covata and T-Systems therefore also enables us to further develop our data security approach. "
