Aachen, 4 September 2014 - LANCOM Systems, the leading German network infrastructure supplier for the business market, adds a new device to its portfolio of switches.
The LANCOM GS-2310P is a managed layer 2 switch with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports and two combo ports (TP / SFP). Comprehensive security features - including port-based access control based on IEEE 802.1X, TACACS +, SSH, SSL and SNMPv3 - make this switch a complete security component for modern business networks.
Thanks to its compact design, silent fan and robust metal, non-slip housing, the LANCOM GS-2310P switch is ideal for use in small offices and home offices. The switch supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to the IEEE 802.3af / at standard. It efficiently supplies up to eight network components with power, even components with high energy consumption (cumulative power consumption up to 130 watts on all ports). Separate power cords are therefore not required for devices such as IP telephones or Gigabit WLAN access points with IEEE 802.11ac, such as the LANCOM L-13xx series.
The quality and reliability of professional networks are highly dependent on the switches in those networks. With this new Gigabit switch, LANCOM offers customers and partners a component that is fully compatible with the LANCOM range including the familiar LANCOM quality. The status of the connections is clearly indicated on the front of the switch. The integrated power supply and the high level of energy saving according to IEEE 802.3az (inactive ports are automatically switched off) underline the professional character of this device. With full IPv4 and IPv6 support, this switch is a future-proof platform for dual-stack use in the transition period.
An adapter for installation in a 19-inch housing is included.
Users configure and manage the switch via a handy web interface, via command lines, with Telnet or via the serial port (RJ-45). Connections can also be encrypted with SSL, SSH, SNMPv3 or HTTPS. In addition, the device can be seamlessly integrated into the LANCOM management tools LANconfig, LANmonitor and the LANCOM Large Scale Monitor (LSM). Furthermore, the switch supports SNMPv2 management thanks to the integrated Management Information Base (MIB).
The LANCOM GS-2310P is available immediately and comes with a five-year warranty. An optional SFP-SX module (LANCOM SFP-SX-LC1) or the LX version LANCOM SFP-LX-LC1 is also available via LANCOM.
