CEO Dominique Leroy says in an explanation: "The needs of our customers are constantly changing and becoming faster. That applies to individuals and companies. This includes clear and simple communication. With the move to a single commercial brand, Proximus, we are in a better position than ever. '

The name Proximus has already been used for the mobile branch of Belgacom. The familiar company name behind the new Proximus brand will remain Belgacom NV. The other brands of the company, such as Scarlet, 1207/1307, BICS, Tango and Telindus International, also continue to exist.
