Amsterdam, 4 June 2018 - Investment app Peaks joins forces with International Card Services (ICS) , market leader in issuing credit cards in the Netherlands. As a result, Peaks customers will soon be able to make use of the well-known exchange feature on the basis of their bank payments and also on the basis of their ICS credit card transactions. With this feature, a Peaks customer can authorize Peaks to retrieve their own credit card transaction data from ICS and then use it to determine the 'change' and add it to an investment jar. The app, which allows its users to easily arrange the rounding off of digital payment transactions ('change'), encourages people to build up a jar for later in a low-threshold way.

With this collaboration Peaks and ICS endorse their focus on innovation and the future. Something they really care about. The financial parties are the first in the Netherlands to work together to pre-sort on the payment directive PDS2.

ICS and Peaks are ahead of PSD2

At the moment, the Dutch government is transposing PSD2 payment directive into national legislation, a process that has suffered considerable delays. When the introduction is a fact, banks are obliged to share transaction data with other companies at the request of customers. The aim of the new European PSD2 law is to encourage all kinds of new innovation services in a safe manner and to make the financial sector more competitive.

Peaks and ICS are improving with this collaboration. Sijbrand Tieleman, co-founder of Peaks: "It is a shame to start collaborations in a few months only if we are sure that this legislation will be implemented. Many of our customers would already like to build and invest a so-called change jar on the basis of their transaction data, but because of the delay in the PSD2 implementation in the Netherlands this is not yet possible. Now that a Peaks customer can also give ICS permission to share its transaction data with Peaks, we are already taking an important first step in the run-up to PSD2. Our customers can thus be the first to benefit from the benefits that this new legislation can offer them. "

Innovation is of great importance

Maurice Koot, CEO ICS: "We strongly recommend to pre-sort for innovations in the financial world. As a result, our customers are always at the forefront and can make use of the new possibilities offered by the new directive. "Even now, by being the first financial party pre-sorting on PSD2, Peaks and ICS pull the cart. Until now, the change feature of Peaks was only available to Rabobank account holders. Now users of the Peaks app with an ICS credit card can also use this feature.
