In 2010, 153 million dollars was lost in online poker, in 2013 it was only 64 million. This is due to both a decline in the number of online poker players and the declining play per player per year. A small group of intensive players has a driving force on the market: 1 percent of the players account for 47 percent of the game volume.

That could start to change now that the regulation of the Dutch online poker market is imminent, but Academicon warns about spanned market expectations.
