Apple releases the new U2 album for free via iTunes. The music can now be downloaded free of charge worldwide, at least until October 13th. The album is also offered via iTunes Radio and the recently purchased Beats. The new U2 album Sons of Innocence is therefore available to around 500 million users

The new U2 album Sons of Innocence is therefore available to around 500 million users. There may be millions of other users who still sign up for iTunes.

Apple closed its presentation in Cupertino tonight with a performance by U2. Yet music did not come up for discussion today. New iPods were launched a year ago.

Apple needed almost two hours for the presentation of two new iPhones, a payment service and the long-awaited Apple Watch. The new iPad and Apple TV will probably be available later.
