The Haarlem publisher of titles such as PCM, Computer Idee, PC Active and Power Unlimited just made it known with a press release. It is mainly the titles PCM and Computer Idea that are affected. The titles remain, but the complete editors of PCM are on the street.

Director Paul Molenaar of HUB: "The very painful measures now, allow us to introduce more products at a lower cost. We have no other choice. "

Further in the explanation: 'The new publications that HUB Uitgevers has recently introduced have not yet been able to compensate for the effects of the crisis on the already existing titles.'

'Although the short-term goal is unquestionably an essential cost saving, the long-term goal of the reorganization is to prepare the company for a different way of working, to release multiple products over multiple media. The management's ambition is to introduce a different way of working, to embrace the director's role, to be able to produce more products than is currently the case. '

Molenaar joined the management of HUB in October 2011. In March of this year, his company acquired fiber-optic internet company Helden van Nu.

A social plan has been agreed upon after negotiations with the trade unions FNV Kiem and NVJ.
