Sustainable distribution process
The web shopping has experienced considerable growth in recent years. In 2012, according to research by the trade association Thuiswinkel.org, a total of 88 million online orders were placed in the Netherlands. Despite the recession, about 8% growth is expected for 2013. "The more packages are shipped, the more important it is for webshops to set up an efficient and sustainable distribution process, " says Patrick Kerssemakers, CEO of Fonq.nl web warehouse.
Four big advantages
"The cooperation with Packmee has four major advantages for us. Our boxes literally get a second life by using them to collect usable clothing. The proceeds of this clothing benefit the charity. The clothing is collected via the existing network of PostNL, so there is no need for additional cars on the way to collect the clothes and finally the boxes are recycled after use. Fonq.nl stands for unique and high-quality products. We want to convey this sustainable idea in all processes of the organization. An initiative like Packmee therefore fits well with our company. "
Clothing collection 2.0
"We focus on people who regularly buy items on the internet, " said John Myster, manager of Packmee. "And especially women, because they often clear the wardrobe. This makes fonq.nl an ideal partner for us. We hope that with webshops the good initiative of fonq.nl will take over. Every big box can be used for sending the clothing. On the Packmee website www.packmee.nl there is a shipping label that can be printed out. In addition, the free reply number (Packmee, Antwoordnummer 7, 2740 VG, Waddinxveen) from Packmee can also be written on the box with a black marker. "
Fonq.nl is the contemporary web warehouse with more than 100 specialty stores in the fields of living, cooking, gardening, design and gifts and is active in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. Fonq.nl celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The company has been part of the RFS Holland Holding since 2011, including Wehkamp.nl and Create2fit.nl.
Packmee believes that it is possible to unite commerce and corporate social responsibility in a concept unique to the Dutch market. Used, but usable clothing can be given free of charge in every large box to the parcel driver of PostNL or delivered to one of 2, 600 post offices. At least 50% of the profits that Packmee makes benefit the good causes KiKa and Stichting Kinderpostzegels.
