Wibu-Systems comes with a completely new embedded software portfolio for Embedded World
Wibu-Systems launches CodeMeter Embedded 2.1 during the Embedded World event, which takes place from 27 February to 1 and in March in Nuremberg (stand 360, hall 4). With this version Wibu-Systems introduces a structural new business model for the builders of intelligent devices. From now on, they can request, download and start a development toolset (SDK) specifically for their operating system and hardware architecture within 24 hours and start testing secured and licensed applications on their devices

With this version Wibu-Systems introduces a structural new business model for the builders of intelligent devices. From now on, they can request, download and start a development toolset (SDK) specifically for their operating system and hardware architecture within 24 hours and start testing secured and licensed applications on their devices.
CodeMeter Embedded is an optimized runtime environment for embedded systems, which software developers can now choose from a wide selection of SDKs. Each includes a static library with software drivers for any combination of a control system (Android, Linux, QNX, VxWorks, Windows) and a microprocessor architecture (ARM, PowerPC, x86). CodeMeter Embedded is available in binary (compiled) form. The developers can use their compilers or linkers to integrate them with their protected applications.
CodeMeter Embedded 2.1 also connects seamlessly to all secure license containers from Wibu-Systems, including the latest generation USB sticks such as CmStick / B and the in a beautiful housing / BMC variant, available with and without flash memory. Furthermore, the new embedded version of CodeMeter can easily be combined with CmActLicense, the software that connects to the digital fingerprint of the system to be protected. To this end, the users only need to adjust the settings for accessing the digital fingerprint and the memory in which the license files of their devices are stored.
Other Wibu-Systems software tools that can be used with CodeMeter Embedded 2.1 are AxProtector CmE and ExProtector, which provides protection against hacking, software piracy, unauthorized use and reverse engineering. Furthermore, all database-driven functions of CodeMeter License Central can also be activated with the embedded variant, such as creating, distributing, managing and monitoring software licenses.
At Embedded World, Wibu-Systems devotes further attention to intensive collaboration with Wind River, a subsidiary of Intel. The extensive and tailor-made Wibu-Systems solutions for VxWorks have been further refined and include functions in the field of integrity protection, authenticity determination, intellectual property protection and copy protection, certificate management and licensing management, as well as storing keys in the form of hardware, software or in the cloud.
At the same time Wibu-Systems also strengthens the collaboration with Intel directly. CodeMeter successfully passed the admission test to the Intel's SGX architecture for the security of application code and data. The product will be available for Windows, Linux and the cloud in the near future. CodeMeter uses the SGX enclaves to securely store the properties of the software / hardware link in memory at the moment that program code is activated and thus opens the way to further improving the license management and software security.
Oliver Winzenried, CEO and founder of Wibu-Systems, sees his company as the catalyst of security in the era of embedded systems, driven by the principles of Industry 4.0. "M2M networks come at a stage in which remote control, monitoring and maintenance takes place on a global scale. A pluriformly composed group of suppliers is involved in this. Any technology that wants to become a de facto standard must offer interoperability and mutual communication between all current and future embedded systems. With CodeMeter Embedded 2.1, we bring the usability of license management and cybersecurity to a new level for all major embedded platforms ".
