Amsterdam, 21 April 2016 - Progress Communications has been nominated for a SABER EMEA Award in the Consumer Electronics category. The Benelux PR agency for companies in the ICT and consumer electronics par- tories won the nomination for the Microsoft case for Windows 10 'How Holland fell (back) in love with Windows'. The SABER EMEA Awards will be presented on 25 May 2016 at STATION Berlin in Berlin.

The Windows 10 campaign was set up to activate the whole of the Netherlands to upgrade to Microsoft's new operating system Windows 10. At the end of 2014, Microsoft called in Progress Communications for the strategy, tactics and implementation of the project to encourage consumers and companies to upgrade their devices to Windows 10 as of July 2015.

The approach for the introduction to the Dutch market consisted of three phases, including preview meetings for media and fans, a Windows 10 tram activation campaign in Rotterdam (010) on the day of the launch, followed by a ten-day pop-up exhibition called Future Test. With this, Windows 10 got a lot of attention. The campaign directly contributed to the business objective: by now more than 30% of the Dutch are already on Windows 10 (source: Statcounter). The aim of Microsoft is to reach one billion Windows 10 devices worldwide within three years.

The SABER Awards highlight the best PR work to show that PR is responsible for large brand-building ideas, creative content and strategic reputation management programs. The awards recognize the increasing strategic role of PR agencies in building a brand and corporate branding. According to the organization, this is becoming increasingly important now that the PR sector is changing faster than ever. Every year almost five thousand cases are submitted worldwide, more than two thousand from the EMEA region. The awards will be presented during the annual award dinner, in which 800 leaders from the branch were present in 2015.
